Kimberly Ligocki's Thoughts ...

  • Have you all seen the new Spring/Summer 2009 issue of Vogue Knitting (http://www.vogueknitting.com/)? There is hardly a pattern in it I don't want to knit! DAMN THEM! First on my needles from this book is the "Drop Stitch Scarf" shown on page 64. I have actually knit this scarf once before when I bought the pattern and the Prism Arts "Saki" yarn while visiting my girlfriend Becky in Charlottesville, Va. Becky got the finished scarf for Christmas that year and she always tells me how much she loves it.

  • Those folks at Classic Elite http://www.classiceliteyarns.com have done it again. Into my mailbox this afternoon popped a FREE pattern http://www.classiceliteyarns.com/newsletter.php for a beautiful baby blanket made from their Sprout http://www.classiceliteyarns.com/product_page_detail.php?category_id=5&i... yarn. Sprout is a bulky organic cotton that came into the store about three weeks ago and that I've been lusting over ever since. The pattern is simple, classic and lovely and would knit up great in any of the ten or so colors we have in the store.

  • Did you all receive your weekly newsletter from Classic Elite Yarns http://www.classiceliteyarns.com this morning? It featured a free pattern for a Silky Alpaca Lace Shawl that was done entirely in garter stitch, thereby making it a good project for beginning knitters. If you don't get the newsletter, you can sign up for it on CEY's website.
